SRT Forum – Welfare and Performance of the Ridden Horse

We are delighted to offer access to a fascinating training and discussion day, Wednesday 3rd August at Ingestre. Organised by one of our members, Anne Bondi BHSI, the subject is “Welfare and Performance of the Ridden Horse” – starting with “The Social Licence Concept”, and concluding with an open forum on “How we take the message to industry stakeholders”.

Anne says:
“The aim of this forum is to run the sessions as a pilot in preparation for a wider series. Working with the Saddle Research Trust and Sue Dyson, I would like to present the format and content to a focus group of experienced industry professionals and invite your feedback on how we can best translate and disseminate the key message to the wider equine community.

We believe the evidence-based information that we will present is a game-changer for the industry in respect of the welfare and performance of ridden horses and our social licence to operate. We are, however, also acutely aware that it is an extremely difficult message to convey effectively; therefore at this preliminary stage we will keep the focus very much on the research, the evidence and its practical application.

Numbers will be strictly limited so please book your place early to avoid disappointment – the booking window for F&I members is until 6th May. Thereafter the day will be promoted more widely.”
