Autumn Newsletter 2008

Dear Members

Once again, I find myself drafting another autumn newsletter. Where does the time go? The last training day with Kenneth Clawson and Peter Murphy was inspiring and well attended and we have another training day further north on October 30 th at Myerscough with Judy Harvey to look forward to (please contact Sue Pimbley for details etc 01253 701014)

Many congratulations to our new Is and welcome to your free year’s membership to the F & I Association. We all look forward to seeing you at our training days and of course at our Annual Course in January using the superb facilities at Addington.

We wish those intrepid travellers forging their way to the October Fellowship exam all the best of luck. Taking part is great but winning is even better!

We enclose a booking form for our Annual Course at Addington, and we’re delighted to welcome – again – the brilliant Carl Hester and Di Lampard. Remember to book stabling for yourselves and your horses to enable you to stay the night and enjoy our AGM and Annual Dinner. Please book early – why not fill in the form right now and send it off…

Also we are updating our database and keeping better track of who has and hasn’t paid their membership dues. So PLEASE fill in the Membership Renewal Form for 2009 and confirm your membership status to us, and, while you’re at it, why not take a few copies and encourage every other F and I you see to fill one in too? More forms are also available on our excellent and informative website.

Looking forward to seeing many of you at the Annual Course, if not before.

Yours sincerely

William Blane FBHS, Chairman, F&I Association

Summer/Autumn Newsletter 2008

Dear Members

Welcome to the new newsletter. The credit card crunch, threats of a collapse in the housing market and extortionate fuel prices cast a shadow over the country, but our Association is going from strength to strength.

My committee has worked hard to get these dates for future training days early and I am curtailing long reports of our fantastic spring training days so as to get these summer/autumn dates to you all to allow you to put them in your diary.

These training days are inspirational. They revive the brain cells and instil enthusiasm and knowledge and of course are a must for any exam candidates, competitor or coach!

I hope to see you on these and while I’m at it may I remind you of our superb two-day Annual Course and AGM/Dinner with Di Lampard and Carl Hester 7 th-8 th Jan 2009 at Addington. Book the dates off now!

Yours sincerely

William Blane FBHS Chairman, F&I Association.

Newsletter – Spring 2008

Dear Members

Welcome to our Spring newsletter. A very big “Thank you” to my committee members whose help have enabled this newsletter to be published so promptly, so you can look ahead and book these fantastic training opportunities in your diary.

Our two-day course with Carl Hester and Di Lampard was a real tonic to the start of 2008 and our turnout for the committee meeting, AGM and dinner a record! (Please read enclosed reports.) The Association hopes to have Carl and Di again for 7th/8th January 2009 – their dates permitting.

I was delighted to see Sue Pimbley acknowledging the help she gained from Carl at the Annual F&I course in Horse and Hound. Please could everyone keep promoting and publicising our great Association. I was also very encouraged to see new members at our course and fellow coaches and instructors from the other disciplines. I would like to feel that each one of us could recruit at least one BHSI into the Association. Please also remember that our training days are usually open to future candidates who are training towards their BHSI and often members’ guests.

We are aware that our database of members needs updating! Please could ALL MEMBERS fill in a new membership form with all your details on it and send to Maggie Doel.

Our first training day is almost upon us – Tuesday February 19th at Hartpury, so I hope to see you there. All the other training days are listed in the newsletter with the date, price and a contact number to book.

I feel the Association is going from strength to strength but the committee always look forward to constructive criticism and ideas for future training days.

I hope you all have a very successful 2008.

William Blane FBHS, Chairman, F&I Association.
